Life and career
Trivedi is hailed from a musical family in Vadodara of Gujarat.[1] She started to learn music while she was in 8th grade. Her father is a Railways employee who is fond of singing and her mother is a folk who has her own music group.[2] Her elder sister is an engineer and a trained Bharata Natyam dancer.[3][4]
In 2007, Trivedi got selected from audition to perform in Indian Idol 3, however quit the show as she was suffering from jaundice. The following year she was again auditioned to perform in Indian Idol 4, but again had to quit the show since her aunt died because of breast cancer.[3] She returned to the Fifth edition of Indian Idol where she ends up the competition as the Runner-up.[5] In the audition she sang a mix of the Gujarati portion of the multi-lingual rap song, Blood Brothers, by Karmacy and Wannabe by Spice Girls.
Trivedi, began her Bollywood career with 2012 film Prem Mayee with the song 'Bahne Dey'.[1] However, she rose to fame with her rendition in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2013 released film Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela, where she lent her voice for the song Ram Chahe Leela which was picturized on Priyanka Chopra.[6] She was initially approached to pen Gujarati lyrics and sing that bit for a song arranged by Shail Hada when she was told that Bhansali was looking for a different voice to sing a song for his next film.[2] The song was well received by the audience and critics, while reviewers praised Trivedi's rendition in the song.[7] Other than Bollywood songs, she also had recorded for several Gujarati films.[8]

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-LeelaGoliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (transl. A play of bullets: Ram-Leela) is a 2013 Indian Hindi tragic romance film composed and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who also composed its soundtrack. The film was jointly produced by Bhansali and Eros International's Kishore Lulla; it stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The supporting cast includes Supriya Pathak, Richa Chadda, Sharad Kelkar, Gulshan Devaiah, Barkha Bisht Sengupta, and Abhimanyu Singh. Bhansali conceived Ram-Leela while working on his directional debut Khamoshi: The Musical; an insufficient budget led to the project being postponed. After reviving the project in 2012, Singh and Padukone were cast in the lead roles over many other choices. Principal photography began in Gujarat before moving to Rajasthan. Much of the filming was done on sets, despite previous plans against doing so. The background score was composed by Monty Sharma, while the lyrics were written by Siddharth–Garima.
The film's release, scheduled on 15 November 2013, was stayed by Delhi High Court. The film initially titled Ram-Leela was changed to Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in response to an order by the court, allowing it to release on the scheduled date. It received positive reviews, with praise directed to the performances of the cast members, particularly Singh and Padukone. Criticism was focused on its plot and elements of violence. Ram-Leela earned ₹2.02 billion in its theatrical run, and was the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of 2013.
Ram-Leela received 8 nominations at the Filmfare Awards, winning three including Best Actress for Padukone. At the International Indian Film Academy Awards, it received nine nominations, including for Best Film, and won two.
